The Manhattan

The Manhattan is a generally non descript building most people will drive by and miss.  However it is a Chicago landmark, listed on the national  register of historic places and is one of the last remaining original skyscrapers.  Yes, at 16 stories, it is a skyscraper.  Back in 1889 it was visited as a marvel.  During the 1892 World’s Fair it was a highly visited location (even though it is no where near the Fairgrounds).  Photographing it is odd.  It’s on a busy corner.  However, standing just in front of the entry and look up, you see some great faces that the builders put on the bottom of the windows, knowing that people would be looking up at the building.  The east side has a mural recently added.
